The film deals with the problem of the borderland that appeared in the lands of Krajna after 1919 from the perspective of a village coachman. In the close vicinity of the border-river within a dozen or so villages — there are local people with the surname "Glugla", German freemasons and local folk legends about the devil. The common element for them is crossing a certain border. In addition - "Glugla" is a word whose meaning leads among others to „the sound of water” as well as „balancing on the edge”.
